Magical Maranello and the Master
Maranello Showroom and July saw the 50th anniversary of Maranello, plus the launch of Sir Jackie Stewart’s book and unveiling of the new Ferrari 458
Sir Jackie Stewart asked Roger Lindsay to oversee production for this multi-headline event. Roger promptly came to us to develop the project. The venue was the Maranello showroom, celebrating its 50th birthday and filled for the occasion with both modern and classic Ferraris. Within ten hours we installed a small stage with truss surround supporting speakers, lighting and black drape hiding a brace of Ferrari 458s. We rehearsed and presented the event for Maranello’s top 200 clients. Kicked off by the Head of Ferrari, who was joined by Sir Jackie Stewart, the new Ferraris were driven into the showroom and clients allowed to get up close and personal with the amazing cars. A couple of hours later we handed back the venue to Maranello as if nothing had happened, after a truly magical event.
Brecon Jazz
August and another musical highlight in Wales
Run by Hay Festival, 2010 saw the firm consolidation of a more intimate festival. Hay stepped into the breach two years ago to keep the Festival alive and this year managed to develop a whole new feel to the weekend. We’ve been working on the Festival for 26 years and are unashamedly proud of our association with its many achievements. 2010 marked a true step forward and we look forward to seeing it develop.
We provided full audio support and engineers to four venues and engaged in a great collaboration with Roland who sponsored the fifth. Our engineers thoroughly enjoyed the Festival and we were fortunate to receive some great feedback. Despite emptying our warehouse (it falls during our busiest period), once again our MD Richard went to production manage the event, giving himself a chance to flex his muscles in the back of a truck and see everything in action. The crew was naturally delighted to have him looking over their collective shoulder…
Richard Thompsons Meltdown
London’s Southbank and June brought us Meltdown 2010.
Bigger and better than previous years, we were lucky enough to be working alongside Southbank Centre’s team to produce a series of remarkable shows. With events in all four venues right across The Southbank’s 21 acre site, the site was a hive of activity for nine days. On top this, offsite projects including film projection onto the sides of buildings with full audio support – fabulous. Richard Thompson’s eclectic programme wove together some great collaborations and juxtaposed the likes of ‘I’m sorry I haven’t a clue’ with Paolo Nutini.
A month around the country
October and Roop Kumar Rathod tours England
With this particular promoter, we previously have only provided audio support; however, during initial production meetings it became apparent that we could provide full technical production for the inaugural tour of Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonali Rathod in England. The tour visited Leicester, Birmingham, London and Liverpool. We toured a Meyer speaker system control by Midas H3000. Meyer monitors were run from Yamaha PM5d. Working with the venues and it gave Genevieve, our Account Manager, a chance to go out on the road again even if she did find herself reverting at times to being our resident lighting expert.

I am the Pet Shop Boys FOH engineer (for want of a better term!!!). and obviously as such was one of the three engineers involved in the recent show at the Barbican.
I just wanted to write and say how delighted and happy we were with all aspects of the service we received from your company and crew who were efiicient, friendly and all round good blokes and bloke-ess!!!!
Looking forward to working with you again in the future.
Thanks SO much for making last nights event such as successful one! Dennis was phenomenal on the desk, very calm and thorough throughout, and the whole sound and lighting crew were just brilliant. All the artists were bowled over by the level of technical support and expertise that we injected into the show, and it seemed to go down very well with audiences and other colleagues here too.
I felt privileged to be a part of such a professional and creative team, so thanks again.
Can you please pass my thanks on to Richard, James and Roland for last night. The boat looked fantastic and the event went without a hitch. I always enjoy working with the RNSS team and will surely be in touch for more jobs ion the future.
